CALL FOR APPLICATIONS for the award of ZIRA Scholarships in the 2025/2026 School Year

In accordance with the Statute of the INSTITUT ZA INOVATIVNE UMJETNOSTI (Institute for Innovative Arts) (hereinafter: the Institute), the Director of the Institute hereby issues the following
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
for the award of ZIRA Scholarships to students of the CMD Department of BASICSchool – School of Music and Performing Arts for the 2025/2026 school year
General eligibility requirements for applicants:
Applicants must:
be citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina;
have permanent residence in Bosnia and Herzegovina;
be regular (full-time) primary school pupils in Bosnia and Herzegovina;
not be recipients of a scholarship on any other basis;
not be repeating a grade.
The scholarships are awarded from the scholarship fund of the company ZIRA d.o.o. Sarajevo. The scholarship amounts, corresponding to the awarded annual tuition fees, will be paid to the Institute.
Planned number of scholarships: 5.
Scholarships are awarded within the following groups:
First group (for existing students of the CMD Department of BASICSchool who have achieved the best results): two successful students who completed the previous school year with the highest grade, who have received awards at competitions of music schools or music festivals, and who have participated in significant school projects.
Second group (for existing students of the CMD Department of BASICSchool from families with lower socio-economic status or who are children of single parents): one student who completed the previous school year with a passing grade.
Third group (for new students of the CMD Department of BASICSchool who achieved the maximum number of points on the entrance examination): two prospective students.
Specific conditions for the first scholarship group:
excellent achievement to date in BASICSchool; that is, students who completed the previous school year with the highest grade ODLIČAN (Excellent) – A/5;
awards and recognitions from national and international competitions of music school students or from music festivals;
participation in two or more school projects (concerts, musicals, New Year’s TV show) in the previous school year.
Specific conditions for the second scholarship group:
positive achievement to date in BASICSchool; that is, students who completed the previous school year with grades ODLIČAN (Excellent) – A/5, VRLO DOBAR (Very Good) – B/4, DOBAR (Good) – C/3 or ZADOVOLJAVA (Satisfactory) – D/2;
the student is a child from a family with low socio-economic status or a child of a single parent;
priority will be given to students without both parents who are placed in the care of specialized institutions.
Specific conditions for the third scholarship group:
the student has achieved the maximum number of points on the entrance examination for enrolment in the first level/grade of the current school year.
Along with the completed online application form for this Call, available on the BASICSchool eSystem, candidates are required to upload the following documents:
Proof of enrolment in the relevant grade of regular primary school in the 2025/2026 school year;
Proof of completion of the previous grade/level at BASICSchool (certificate or latest semester confirmation);
Signed statement that the candidate is not receiving a scholarship on any other basis;
Copies of all diplomas/certificates from competitions of music school students or music festivals (for candidates in the first scholarship group);
Document proving that the student is a child of a single parent (for candidates in the second scholarship group);
Proof of the household’s socio-economic status – statement of monthly income (for candidates in the second scholarship group);
Proof that the student/scholarship holder is in the care of an institution for children without parental care (for candidates in the second scholarship group).
Selection of candidates will be carried out by a committee, based on a scoring system in accordance with the Rulebook on determining the conditions, criteria and procedure for awarding scholarships. Candidates will be informed of the results in writing.
If there is more than one candidate from the same household, the scholarship will be awarded to only one candidate. If, in any of the three defined groups, there are not enough applicants who meet the requirements, any unused scholarships from that group will be transferred to the remaining groups and awarded to candidates from those groups with the highest number of points.
Individual applications with evidence of fulfilment of the conditions of this Call and all required documents must be submitted exclusively via the school’s eSystem.
The Call, once published, will remain open until 15 December 2025 at 23:59.
Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.
Selected candidates will be announced on 18 December 2025.
